Danielle Frankel bride and her chic wedding weekend in Tuscany

January 14, 2025

Inspired by both the classic countryside beauty and the contemporary airy designs of Monteverdi Tuscany, this Italian wedding weekend editorial incorporated modern fashion and feel of ease with traditional Italian elements. Created to showcase an intimate wedding weekend in quiet luxury aesthetic and in honor of Italian nature and lifestyle, the two days took place in different parts of the venue bringing elevated and memorable wow factor to the celebration. The couple’s naturally romantic vibe encapsulated the party.

The Venue: The Ultimate Tuscan Experience

Monteverdi Tuscany is a luxury hilltop hotel surrounded by the Val d’Orcia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Monteverdi Tuscany consists of eighteen individual rooms and three private villas—all blending medieval architecture with contemporary interior design and modern-day amenities. Luring back locals and tourists alike with art events, luxe accommodations, gorgeous views, a world-class spa and outstanding culinary experience, Monteverdi offers the ultimate Tuscan experience.

The Fashion: Danielle Frankel

On the wedding day the bride wore Danielle Frankel’s “Nina” gown paired with a gentle floral short veil by Jane Rhyan. “Less is more” perfectly describes this duo: for the gown, corset-inspired bodice and unique basque waist are contrasted by plenty of volume through the regal, gathered skirt; and the short veil made of Italian stamped floral tulle adds a sophisticated traditional touch to the modern look.

Danielle Frankel’s ‘Nina’ gown is a beautiful play on proportions – the corset-inspired bodice and unique basque waist are contrasted by plenty of volume through the regal, gathered skirt. Made from wool and silk-blend satin, it rests on pin-thin straps and falls to a floor-sweeping train that trails behind as you walk. The layers of organza underneath ensure it keeps its shape from your wedding ceremony to the after party.

The Design: Natural and Organic

The reception at Monteverdi was inspired by the property itself – from  the sweeping views and rolling hills, to the modern finishes of the resort. In order for the design to feel natural and organic, and also reflect the beautifully refined setting that Monteverdi offers, the design team accented the pops of black in the chairs & flatware.

The Danielle Frankel gown with pin-thin straps, basque wast and a grass-sweeping train had a jaw-dropping moment itself.

The Night: Italian Wedding Cake

Wedding cake traditions in Italy often involve a chef assembling the cake in front of guests during the wedding ceremony, so did the Monteverdi’s chef Giancarla Bodoni together with the couple – which was a memorable and interactive experience.
